Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Training

Course Duration:

1 - 2 hours

 

Course Location: 

All OH&S Consulting training is performed face to face at your premises or a Training Venue can be arranged (at an additional fee).

 

Course Intention: 

This course is intended to instruct individuals in the correct selection, use and
maintenance of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This course will be developed
according to the PPE needs of the company.

 

All attendees will receive a certificate of attendance.

 

Learning Objectives & Outcomes: 

Upon completion of this course participants should be able to:

• Recall and understand the legislative references, guidelines, codes of practice, Australian Standards and company procedure related to PPE.

• Understand the importance of PPE and the role it plays in protecting an individual.

• Identify common types of PPE.

• Understand the benefits and limitations of selected PPE.

• Understand the process of selecting the correct piece of PPE for a given job task.

• State where PPE sits in the hierarchy of control.

• Demonstrate how to use PPE correctly.

 

Course Contents: 

• Advantages and Disadvantages of PPE.

• Standards relevant to Personal Protective Equipment (Regulations, Australian Standards and Company requirements).

• Responsibilities of Users of PPE.

• Selection of Personal Protective Equipment.

• Correct Use of PPE.

• Correct Storage.

• Maintenance and Replacement Policy

• Who to report faults or damage to and where to obtain PPE for a given job task.
