Manual Handling Training

Course Location: 

All OH&S Consulting training is performed face to face at your premises or a Training Venue can be arranged (at an additional fee).

 

Course Intention: 

This course is intended to reduce the incidence of manual handling injuries by providing tools for employees to identify, assess and control manual handling risks in their work areas. It will also facilitate compliance with WorkSafe WA’s Code of Practice for manual handling and the Occupational Safety and Health Regulations.

 

All attendees will receive a certificate of attendance.

 

Learning Objectives & Outcomes: 

Upon completion of this course participants should be able to:

• Summarise the requirements of the WA legislation on Manual Handling and the WorkSafe WA’s Code of Practice for Manual Handling.

• Apply the basic principles of ergonomics and manual handling.

• Identify, assess and make recommendations for controlling manual handling risks.

• Practically apply manual handling methods into the workplace.

• Definition of manual handling.

• Three steps of manual handling.

• Ergonomics.

• Risk identification.

• Generation of task list with manual handling risks.

• Ranking of identified manual handling tasks.

• Risk assessment.

• Risk control.

• Video presentation.

• Analysis of recorded scenarios using risk management tools.

• Workshop activities.

• Competency assessment.
