Nuts & Bolts of Men's Health Training

Course Intention:
Nuts and Bolts of Men’s Health has been designed to focus on men’s health, based on the belief that women have a more comprehensive access to community health
programs. Women are better informed and proactive with regard to their health than their General Practitioner shy male partners.
All attendees will receive a certificate of attendance.
Learning Objectives & Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course participants should be able to:

To identify risk factors that could predispose employees to developing heart disease.
Course Contents:
Structured to be performed in three distinct sessions:

The first session is a presenter to specifically address men’s general health including, male cancer (testicular and prostate), smoking, alcohol, nutrition, exercise, and sexual functions and dysfunction.

The second session is a health appointment to have blood taken and completing a risk assessment questionnaire. A blood test to check blood cholesterol and glucose levels. Also checked from the blood test is evidence of anaemia and an enlarged prostrate. The physical assessment includes blood pressure, pulse, weight, height, urine and lung function. Review of abdominal strength and flexibility and an assessment of your body fat composition is also completed.

The third session is an appointment to discuss blood results and health assessment with the participant. We analyse the health risk factors scores and provide the participants with results supported with a Health Yourself Resource Pack and General Practitioner referral (if required).
