All OH&S Consulting training is performed face to face at your premises or a Training Venue can be arranged (at an additional fee).

 

Course Intention: 

This course is intended to provide Committee Members with the necessary skills and knowledge to be an effective member of the Safety and Health Committee.

 

All attendees will receive a certificate of attendance.

 
Learning Objectives & Outcomes: 

Upon completion of this course participants should be able to:

  • Apply the relevant legislation to their committees.

  • Describe and understand the role and function of the OSH Committee.

  • Prepare, actively participate and run effective OSH Committee meetings.

  • Apply the appropriate knowledge of current OSH legislation.

  • The appropriate knowledge to source changes to OSH legislation.

  • Discuss and recommend corrective actions for Hazard Reports and Incident Reports / Investigations.

  • Participate and discuss the formulation, implementation and evaluation of OSH programmes relevant to the organisation.

  • Develop effective communication skills to be a competent and effective committee member.

  • Draft the framework for the terms of reference for the Committee.

  • Occupational safety and health legislation.

  • Functions of OSH Committee.

  • Terms of reference of an OSH Committee.

  • Membership of OSH Committee.

  • Roles of OSH Committee Members.

  • Structure of OSH Committee meeting.

  • OSH Committee record keeping.

  • Effective communication skills.

  • Problem solving and decision making skills.
