Course Intention:
This course is intended for both employers who have or are considering having personnel working from home and personnel who are working from the home environment. It will provide participants with a sound understanding of the Safety, Health and Human
Resource implications on persons working from home and equip them with effective strategies for managing these problems to ensure success of this initiative.
All attendees will receive a certificate of attendance.
Learning Objectives & Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course participants should be able to:

Make an informed decision when considering working from the home environment as an option for themselves or other personnel.

Conduct a risk assessment of the intended home workplace.

Have a sound understanding of required insurances, council and professional requirements.

Effectively set up the home working environment taking into consideration the occupational safety and health implications including security and communication.

Practical Strategies to promote a healthy Home Based Workplace - includes work breaks, task rotation, amenities, ventilation, ambient temperature, storage.

Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and Risk Control.

Use of Inspection Checklists.

Minimising the impact of hazards/potential hazards - Manual Handling, Electrical Equipment, Hazardous Substances, Setting up a Work Station.

Ventilation, Heating.

First Aid and Reporting of Injuries.

Ensuring Required Insurance Cover for Work Performed.

Avoiding Social Isolation from the Conventional Workplace.
